Ahmed Saleh Al Hajeri, Deputy CEO at the National Ambulance underlined the National Ambulance’s eagerness to provide emergency services around the clock in all areas of the Northern Emirates, through a specialized operations room, a myriad of qualified medical staff and a fleet of ambulances equipped with the latest emergency and technical tools and instruments. These services reflect the National Ambulance’s commitment to achieve continuous innovation and excellence in the various services provided to the community.

Additionally, Al Hajeri pointed out that the National Ambulance is taking part in the team of Government Accelerators of the Ministry of Interior (MoI) challenge aimed to reduce road fatalities on five main roads in the UAE by 21%. This campaign is launched in cooperation with strategic partners, namely the Traffic and Patrols Department at the Police General Headquarters (GHQs), the Ministry of Infrastructure Development, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), and the Emirates Traffic Safety Society.

It is worth mentioning that the National Ambulance has been commissioned to handle emergencies with the aim of raising the chances of survival of traffic accidents’ victims in areas falling under its mandate in Northern Emirates including Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah. This constitutes one of the main axes for achieving the objectives of this challenge.

Furthermore, Al Hajeri noted that the National Ambulance launched many new and innovative initiatives in line with the latest international practices. “The National Ambulance seeks to implement such initiatives during the challenge period,” he explained. Moreover, he said that these initiatives include redistributing ambulatory points in places where previous accidents were concentrated based on statistics and studies; relying on dynamic positioning to ensure rapid and effective response; and allocating air ambulance patrols in collocation and coordination with the Air Wing Department at the MoI during the mornings and afternoons on the targeted roads; in addition to other initiatives that will be implemented in cooperation with strategic partners.

Al Hajeri said that the National Ambulance launched a number of awareness programs this year to promote the ambulatory culture, raise public awareness about ambulatory practices, and boost the public’s readiness in dealing with emergencies. “These initiatives varied between employing social media, media and cinema screens, to direct communication with the public through community participation and national exhibitions,” explained Al Hajeri.
