Naturalization and Residency Sector Marks Zayed Humanitarian Day

The Naturalization, Residency and Ports Affairs Sector at the Ministry of Interior (MoI) hosted a ceremony to mark Zayed Humanitarian Day, in memory of the humanitarian, philanthropic and charitable approaches and efforts of the country’s founder, the late HH Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. The event was held at the Police Officers Club at the Naturalization, Residency and Ports Affairs Headquarters in Abu Dhabi, and was attended by Major General Khalifa Hareb Al Khaiaili, Acting Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for Naturalization, Residency and Ports Affairs.

 

In his speech at the event, Major General Al Khaiaili recalled the virtues and feats of the late founding father HH Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al NahyanHe said: “The world will not forget this great leader whose achievements will be etched the book of history with letters of gold. We are gathered here today to pay tribute to the memory of the UAE founding father, and the builder of its renaissance and pride, Zayed Al Khair, who will remain alive and immortal in the memory and the conscience of the nation and citizens and in the hearts and souls of Arab and Islamic nation, after a life devoted to work with dedication and sincerity to serve his country, his people, Arab and Islamic countries and humanity as a whole. His deeds will be forever engraved in history as a wise inspirational leader, who managed to win and unite the hearts of all people, and whose love and affection were reciprocated by all.”

 

Adding further, Major General Al Khaiaili noted: “Late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan had an impressive record of national achievements that will be engraved in history. Sheikh Zayed maintained his generosity for 66 years in the interest of the nation. He devoted his life to building his country and serving its citizens and dedicated himself to helping them achieve their dreams and aspirations of a decent and well-rounded life. Thanks to his wise vision, he started building the nation from scratch, by harnessing the returns of natural resources to build humans, establish schools, promote education and provide the best health services by building hospitals and clinics; in addition to hundreds of infrastructure projects and modern cities, which contributed to the transition of the UAE into one of the world’s most developed and stable countries.”

 

“Zayed’s memory is immortal in the hearts and conscience of the nation, the leadership and citizens. The approach he adopted in the various areas of work is a beacon that inspires the leadership to follow suit,” he explained. He also noted that his blessed soul will remain forever present in each and every achievement made by the UAE on the national and international levels, due to his remarkable mark and efforts to lay down strong and solid foundations for the prestigious record of national achievements.

 

The attendees watched a documentary film showcasing the life and deeds of “Zayed Al Khair”, and the achievements he made in the various fields, as well as his role in the establishment of the UAE.

 

Furthermore, Dr. Imaduddin  Hussain, author of the book titled “Zayed and excellence”, read an excerpt from his book, which documents the historical moments in the life of late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, Ruler of Abu Dhabi, and first president of the UAE for a quarter of a century that spanned from 1946 to 1971. The book also sheds the light on Sheikh Zayed’s unique approach in leadership, his notable achievements in the various aspects of life and his keenness to provide a decent and stable life for citizens.

 

In conclusion, Major General Al Khaiaili presented a certificate of appreciation and a commemorative gift to Dr. Imaduddin Hussain, who in turn, offered him a copy of his book.

 

The ceremony was attended by Brigadier Saeed bin Rakan Al Rashedi, Head of Naturalization Department, and Colonel Yusuf Al Khouri, Deputy Director General of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Abu Dhabi, alongside heads of departments and a large crowd of officers, non-commissioned officers, constables, female staff members and workers at the Naturalization, Residency and Ports Sector.
